CF Chepelare will implement a grant scheme to support about 10 local projects developed and implemented by youth organizations, or organizations working with children and youth in the municipality of Chepelare. The purpose of this project is to encourage young people in Chepelare be more active in developing and implementing creative ideas and engaging in community life. Potential grantees are informal youth groups, youth sports clubs and tourism clubs, youth drama and dance groups, school boards of trustees, etc.

The community foundation will make 20 small grants to local NGOs that create long lasting positive practices to engage children and youngsters in their free time.

CF Vincenc Draksler will make from 10 to 15 local grants to grassroots organizations in different areas, which were identified as important for the civil society of Gorenjska region. The funded projects will contribute to the solution of problems in the field of social care and health and prevention of different kinds of addiction. They will also upgrade the knowledge of local NGOs in the field of project management, and contribute to the start up of networking among NGOs. Last, but not least, the grants will help to upgrade the donors network of the CF, and increase the awareness of the general public about its work.

CF Pazardzhik will make 3 small grants to grassroots organizations working in the spheres of socially disadvantaged people, children and youth. The grants will support the following activities: municipal food bank for very poor people; purchase of dance costumes for the youth folk dance group “Chudesia”, and organizing of a training camp for the children’s dance group “Detstvo”.

The community foundation will make between 5 and 10 small grants to grassroots organizations and initiative groups working in the sphere of children and youth mass sport. The grants will support the following types of activities: sport trainings/ practice, organizing tournaments, taking part in contests, buying of sportswear, providing sport equipment, organizing children/youth sports camps.

CF of Pomurje will make at least 10 local grants to grassroots organizations in different areas, which were identified as important for the civil society of Pomurje region. The priority areas of grantmaking include: development of NGO entrepreneurship, work with vulnerable groups, improvement of NGO networking, environmental protection and sustainable development.

The community foundation will provide 4 small grants to support improvement of the study environment at 2 local schools and 1 kindergarten, and 1 social kitchen for very poor elderly people.

The community foundation provided 2 small grants to local organizations working with youth. The first grant goes to a youth folk dance club and the second grant to a local school which is aiming to introduce new interactive forms of teaching. The project will increase the visibility of the community foundation as a local grantmaker in Lom.

The community foundation provided 2 small grants to local schools to install video surveillance systems in their buildings and yards. The new systems for video surveillance are expected to help prevent violence and drug dealing in the schools.

The community foundation provided 4 small grants to local grassroots organizations working with socially marginalized groups: Roma, poor people and people with disabilities. The first grant supported the existing food bank of the local Red Cross. The second grant supported the renovation of the building provided by local government for establishment of a permanent food bank in Pazardzhik. The third grant helped to purchase new reading equipment for the club of blind people. The last one helped for improving the equipment of the community center in the Roma neighborhood.

The community foundation provided a grant to the board of trustees of the 3 local kindergartens to purchase Christmas presents for poor children from the villages of the municipality (60 children), and Christmas decoration for the town center. The project helped to make Christmas brighter to everyone in Chepelare.

The community foundation supported the establishment of a social kitchen for very poor people in Blagoevgrad. The kitchen provided warm food (once a day) to 40 people during the winter months (15 December-15 April). The beneficiaries were selected on the basis of income and family status, preference given to lonely people with very low social pensions, who did not receive municipal social assistance.

The community foundation provided 7 small grants to local schools and kindergartens. Most projects aimed at improving of the environment of the public schools/kindergartens including renovation of study rooms and sports halls, purchase of new equipment, rehabilitation of school yards.

The community foundation provided 8 small grants to local schools, kindergartens and youth organizations. Most projects aimed at improving of the environment of the public schools/kindergartens and supporting youth activities. One project was related to preparation of the students for taking part in the annual festival of humor in Gabrovo. Another project that received huge public support included renovation of the birth-giving department at the regional hospital in Gabrovo and painting pictures at the walls from young volunteers.

The community foundation provided 14 small grants to local schools, kindergartens, and one day-care center for children with disabilities. All locally supported projects aimed at improving of the environment of the public schools/kindergartens and the day-care center for children with disabilities, including renovation of study rooms and sports halls, purchase of new equipment, etc.
