The project aims at strengthening the fundamentals of democratic society and preventing its undermining by making quality investigative journalism aiming at protecting the interest of taxpayers, consumers, local communities, minorities, disabled people etc. The envisaged investigations will make: • public institutions more accountable and responsible • Institutional practices more relevant and transparent • Media more powerful and effective in its role as a watchdog of public interest • People more involved in public life. The main goal will be achieved through the following objectives: To realize investigations in areas which are important for the society • To help solving the investigated problems by provoking proper institutional and public reaction • To increase public awareness and intolerance to those type of wrongdoings • To increase media capacity to conduct effective investigative journalism
