a) Context The SOFIMUN Conference is held on annual basis (in 2009 for second time), each year in July and gives a platform for over 160 young professionals of over 30 nations to work on issues and problems of the agenda of the United Nations organization and offer their own solutions over international problems and issues. Also some of the common problems in the area of future generations are that they do not have a sufficient platform and ability to discuss and elaborate upon issues of vital necessity to the world b) Goal and objectives The SOFIMUN project aims at bringing together professionals of different spheres in a multicultural surrounding. The aim of the conference is to get the participants acquainted in real life conditions with the activities of the UN Organization; to fulfill the role of delegates, representing and observing during sessions; to vote upon decisions and pass resolutions and thus to give a positive “push” to the beginning or the mastering of professional careers. The objective is to engage the attention of young people from all over the world aiming to promote the peace and the mutual cooperation between cultures and countries on international basis.
