| Project Description | The aim of this project is to establish the Balkan Documentary Centre as such a platform for consolidation, cooperation and development. The Centre will give the technical and training base presently lacking to audio-visual projects that nurture a mature civil society on the Balkans. The Centre will be established in Sofia, an easy to access point in the middle of the peninsula. The strategic location will allow reaching the goal of building democracy and freedom together, extending the effects of the Centre’s work on all countries in the region. Documentary will grow into a powerful tool for engaging audiences in the mutual challenges civil society is facing in our region today. The centre will consolidate the creative potential of filmmakers, journalists and media professionals, connect them with institutions endorsing social rights and civil society, and bring the development of documentary films and campaigns up to international standards. |
