The recommended grant will support the second seminar within the joint project by the Association of Leaders of Local Civic Groups and Stefan Batory Foundation entitled “Civic Watch: Citizens on guard of public interest”. A similar travel grant was given for the first seminar in the series, and assessed as successful and important contribution to the discussion about and among watchdog organizations in the CEE region. Entitled Watchdogs – Working Out Credibility, the agenda of the seminar will focus on issues like conflict of interest in citizen’s control activities, accountability of individuals and organizations, ethical approach and credibility of the result of watchdog organizations’ work. Based on the feedback from the first seminar – in which participants found it extremely useful to exchange ideas with people working in other CEE countries – the organizers wish to include participants from other countries in developing the agenda, as well as contribute to and share this important discussion.
