| Project Description | 1) Further improving the human rights situation in closed institutions and guaranteeing that rights enshrined in international norms for detainees are fully respected by Hungarian authorities. 2) Advocating for establishing a quality assurance system for appointed counsels by identifying problems in the existing practice, presenting international good practices and proposing a sustainable quality assurance model. 3) Advocating for eliminating actual life sentences in compliance with the CPT’s recommendation that there is "a regular review of the threat to society posed by ‘actual lifers’, on the basis of an individual risk assessment, with a view to establishing whether they can serve the remainder of their sentence in the community". |
