Goal: Introducing legislative changes that will create effective system of accountability of public officials and supporting citizens in participating in decision-making processes will in long-term perspective contribute to the rule of law in Slovakia and restore citizens’ trust in democratic institutions.

Objectives:

• The top-down approach: extensive legislative adjustments of the system of accountability of public officials (including major legal norms such as Civil Service Act, Civil Proceedings Act, Criminal Code, etc.).
• The bottom-up approach: legal assistance (litigation, consultations) to citizens in precedent cases of public interest and raising their awareness about rights and possibilities to participate in decision-making and influence public policies.
