Project Description

 

The goal of the project is to strengthen Romanian civil society’s capabilities to become a relevant stakeholder in the lawmaking process and democratic decision-making levels. The project’s objectives are:

  • To provide a thorough diagnosis on the main legislative, institutional and practical causes of the lack of consultation between Members of the Parliament and civil society, based on registered perceptions of the two target groups;
  • To increase local NGOs capacities of monitoring/ involving in the legislative process;
  • To strengthen the consultations/cooperation between MPs and their parliamentary staff with civil society organizations from constituencies;
  • To consolidate and diversify IPP’s expertise in the field of participatory parliamentary processes by developing new advocacy tools through working at the local, national and European levels.
