| Project Description |
The goal of the project is creating a community of students that use critical reading and knowledge-based debates as tools for civil involvement.Some of the proposed activities are: To create a core group of 15 members (ARDOR, CJI, PCRM members) specialized in critical reading; To organize 3 online polls to select a motion that reflects public interest and that will be debated online; To attract a number of 960 students to the online debates (debates will take place on the existing platform www.youspeak.ro ); To initiate 192 students in critical reading, argumentation, public speaking; To increase the practice of critical reading, peer learning, thorough research based on prominent international newspapers (The Economist, European Voice, Foreign Policy etc), knowledge based debate among 192 students from 4 cities, in the pursuit of a better understanding of complex matters of society; To discuss with Roma students issues that we all face, as Romanian citizens; To create connections between 192 students & journalists, public figures, partner NGOs; To organize 12 high standard public debates in 4 centers of higher education (Bucharest, Iasi Timisoara, Cluj Napoca); To attracting a total audience of 1200 persons at the public debates held throughout the year; Reach 7000 visitors of the project website.
