The project’s goal is to pro-actively contribute to improving the quality of life of adults with mental disabilities in Romania, by raising awareness on their human rights stipulated by the UN Convention of the Rights of People with Disabilities, especially in the field of legal capacity and competence and employment.

The objectives of the project are: To provide a thorough assessment at national level of the current situation of people with mental disabilities in Romania, who are under guardianship; To provide a thorough assessment at national level of the current situation of employment of people with mental disabilities in Romania; To advocate, through proper mechanisms, for the reform of the guardianship system in Romania; To raise awareness on art. 12 from the UN Convention on legal capacity; To advocate for the change of the Labor Code, for respecting the right to employment for people with mental disabilities.
