| Project Description | а) Goal and objectives The program will enhance the development of the community foundation field (movement) in Bulgaria by providing financial help to the existing community foundations, which were supported in the last 3 years by the CEE Trust, and stimulating other local philanthropy organizations and initiative groups to make use of the community foundation concept. Its objectives are: 1. The program intends to see 7 maturing community foundations with increased resilience and flexibility to survive periods of economic downfall without significant reduction of their established level of grantmaking. 2. The program intends to see dissemination of the community foundation concept in new communities in Bulgaria and expansion of the community foundation network with at least 3 new members. b) Activities • Disbursement of institutional development grants to 7 existing and 3 emerging community foundations from around Bulgaria; • Provision of technical support to grantees upon request; • Dissemination of knowledge about the community foundations in wider society; • Identification of new community foundations. |
