| Project Description | The proposed project aims to address the limited sense of empowerment and the apathy of citizens by informing them about the opportunities available for simple citizens to contribute on a voluntary bases to solving local problems, by creating the opportunity to actually engage voluntarily in solving one local problem, and by promoting their involvement and results of their voluntary work to raise awareness among the rest of the citizens with regard to their power to make a difference in their community. Specific objectives: • to identify local problems that simple citizens can solve, through volunteer engagement, in given communities where the project will be implemented; • to mobilize local citizens to volunteer for solving the identified problem; • to promote the ways in which simple citizens were able to make a difference in their local community through concentrated volunteer action as a confidence building model; • to draft and widely disseminate the “Make a Difference Code of Conduct for Simple Citizens” as a tool for building confidence in the citizens’ ability and capacity to make a difference in their local community. |
