| Project Description | The present project is focused on the ways capable of guaranteeing protection of citizens’ rights and freedoms “at home” which is in line with the international human rights protection standards. The project is aimed at enhancing the national capacity for a current review of national legislation and practice and elaboration of general measures for execution of the judgments of the European Court of Human Rights and bringing of Bulgarian legal system in compliance with the international standards for protection of human rights. The solution BLHR proposes is the formation of expert groups composed of representatives of NGOs and relevant authorities, which will assist the elaboration of the general measures necessary for the execution of the already delivered judgments of the ECtHR against Bulgaria. Other goal of the project is to strengthen capacity of the civil society, and in particular of the relevant NGOs, to participate in the process of monitoring the compliance of national law and practice with the international human rights standards and elaboration of the necessary measures in this regard.
Dissemination of information is also a decisive step towards achievement of the project goals, as it will contribute for the better understanding of the addressed problems of human rights protection existing at national level and will raise public awareness of the issue. |
