| Grant Period | April 01, 2008 – April 01, 2009 |
| Project Description | In order to provoke real change in Bulgarian society’s attitude towards domestic violence and to activate stronger state involvement, a short lived media prevention campaign would not be sufficient. There is an urgent need for better structured cross-sector cooperation among prevention and service providers. There exist effective local networks which are used also by Animus on case by case bases, when a concrete need occurs. However, NGOs from the various regions rarely communicate or work with each other and there is no cohesive regional and national outlook. This project aims at opening up the space for such a forum and further develops those partnerships in a formalized, cohesive network. The mapping of the existing prevention resources in Bulgaria will allow the Association to bring them together, so that they can share their experiences and best practices, which at a later stage of the project will enable to codify an experience based and victim centred prevention approach. |
