What We Support

The Trust for Civil Society in Central & Eastern Europe (CEE Trust) announces an open Call for proposals promoting the development of civil society in Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania.

The CEE Trust is inviting interested and qualified non-profit, non-governmental organizations, expert groups, coalitions, and education institutions to submit letters of intent in the following areas:

            - Accountability of public institutions;

            - Civic Engagement and Community Mobilization; 

            - Solidarity in Social Life;

            - Supportive environment for civil society.

Within these four areas, projects that will better respond to one or more of the below requirements will be in particular encouraged:

• involve to a large extent representatives of other sectors in the proposed actions (e.g. academic environment, education institutions, business, media, etc);
• propose innovative means to attract the interest, develop and involve in concrete actions the non-organized civil society (e.g. informal groups, bloggers, citizens’ groups, students, etc) and to build constituency;
• address the new challenges generated by the economic crisis.

The Letters of Intent should be clearly related to the mission and objectives of the CEE Trust.

The CEE Trust reserves the right to accept or reject any or all letters of intent and will notify all applicants of the outcome of the call for Letters of Intent assessment.

Letter of Intent and Project Application Form must be submitted electronically (via e-mail only) by but not later than on October 26, 2009, 24:00h CET, to the following addresses:

The applications received by post, fax or in person or after the deadline will be automatically REJECTED.

Applicants will be notified about the results by November 25, 2009.
