The project’s goal is stabilizing CDA.

Its objectives are:

• To improve the conditions for further professional development/growth of expert staff of CDA through trainings (both senior and junior staff), supervision (junior staff), expert consultations and CDA´s library enrichment;
• To make CDA more visible to the public, to current and potential donors and to other partners and stakeholders including other NGOs, the media, public authorities and the business sector. 

Institute for Public Affairs (IVO) is applying for an institutional support, which would help to fulfill its basic mission. IVO is a unique public policy think tank whose research activities and expertise have helped to promote open society values and democratic political culture in Slovakia for more than a decade. The Applicant intends to continue his work in four different areas: • migration and integration of third-country nationals residing in Slovakia; • policy-oriented research on gender and age issues; • digital literacy, digital divide, and e-democracy; • cooperation within the PASOS think tank network in order to promote and protect democracy, human rights, good governance and open society values. The Applicant plans to carry out a complex project called Seven Letters of a Democratic Alphabet, which become one of the useful means for sustaining, nurturing, and promoting democratic political culture and liberal constitutionalism in Slovakia.

The Pontis Foundation is proposing the project Great Country as a way of addressing the sustainability of Slovak NGOs by bolstering the culture of individual philanthropy. Secondly, the project will provide the population with the opportunity to contribute to positive developments in Slovakia. The main tool for achieving this goal is the internet domain www.dobrakrajina.sk, an interactive platform between the public (donors) and those carrying out the work (NGOs and community initiatives). During the next two years, the Applicant is planning to improve functioning of the domain through: • development of a donor database; • acquiring new donors; • a creative promotion campaign for the Great Country; • graphic and technical improvements of the domain Great Country, for example introducing the options to support non-profits through material gifts and volunteer work (manual labor for the organization or sharing of know-how, knowledge, experience, skills, and time) or simplifying of the project selection system.

The aim of this project is to ensure sustainability and viability of Fair-Play Alliance.

OSFBA proposes a series of events organized by a coalition of the organization to celebrate 20th anniversary of the Velvet Revolution and to organize a special grant round to local NGOs and students’ activities. The main goals of the project: - to promote past achievements in 20 years history of civil society and to point out that past 20 years indigenous philanthropy was developing and thus helping to the sustainability of the civil society actors - to increase public understanding of diverse roles of NGOs - to provide space for formulation of the future role of civil society organizations in our society (show unity in diversity) - to promote supporters (corporate and individual) of civil society organizations thanks to which they are able to implement their public benefit activities - to motivate the potential donors of the civil society organizations

In state administration, the organization’s objectives are to enforce access to information and public participation in compliance with international agreements, to actively empower citizens facing attacks, and to strengthen accountability of public representatives. In judiciary, the project aims at strengthening public control over the quality of decision making, extend public access to decisions, start a qualified discussion on court rulings and on the issues of judicial ethics. These efforts will contribute to reduction of possibilities for interference with judicial independence.

The projects aims at promoting good practice of public participation and local partnerships building in the sustainable urban development and in the design and reconstruction of public spaces. The first key objectvive of the project is to demonstrate the sense and applicability of the public participation and partnership building on urban development projects on the concrete example of a large public area – park Lanice in the city of Zvolen (“It can work” showcase). The second key objective is to develop a comprehensive information set focused on positive as well as negative approaches in urban development and to present the relevance of public involvement in urban development matters.

The main goal of this watch dog project is to strengthen citizen control of public administration by means of providing comprehensive, complete and easy-to-understand information on ineffective and non-transparent public spending at one place. INESS will create complete and easily accessible internet database of all in print media reported cases of corrupt, nontransparent or ineffective public spending.

The major goal of the proposed project is to improve chances of Romany children from socially disadvantaged environment to succeed in the educational system. With the aim to improve the status of Romany children in the school system, the monitoring, analysis, and evaluation of local educational policies will be performed. This will be followed by formulation and realization of inclusive local educational programs related to children from socially disadvantaged environment. Inclusive local educational programs implemented in individual schools and locations will further serve as methodical aid for a broader professional community.

The aim of the project is to increase the ethical and moral level of the activities of local and regional public administration in Eastern Slovakia, its professional ethical and moral qualities and abilities. It is expected to increase consciousness of public opinion in the region regarding ethical and moral aspects of public administration.

The projects aims at contributing to good governance and accountable implementation of the EU-Funds by the two following objectives: (1) To enhance independent public control over the EU-Funds governance on national and regional levels (2) To promote good-practice examples of implementation of EU-Funds on regional and local levels.

Project intends to build sustainable organization responsive to changes affecting grant-makers and wider sector and thus able to contribute to the development of civil society in Slovakia. Objectives: 1. To build organization responsive to changes affecting grant-makers and wider sector by human resource development. 2. To secure that SDF outreach programs effectively contribute to the SDF mission (development of philanthropy) and financial stability of organization. 3. To ensure that organization is workable, effective, and responsible with creative approaches and trend-setting ideas by capacity building of SDF members.

The purpose of the project is to strengthen individual giving in Slovakia. In order to develop an interactive dialogue between individual donors and NGOs, it will be essential to offer them innovative projects addressing real community needs addressed by NGOs and community initiatives and to use modern techniques of communication and effective financial management. An interactive and transparent website (similar to Facebook, utilizing web 2.0b) will be built as one of the key tools for fundraising /giving and communication. It will play into the deeply recognized and shared sentiment among the target group that Slovakia should be a place to which they would always like to return, no matter how successful they have been abroad. Objectives of the project are: 1. to attract individual support for investment in communities with the aim of being oriented not only on very specific topics covering only one area of societal problems, but also to provide individuals with the possibility of supporting activities from different areas mapping the whole country from a geographical, interest-orientation, or target-group point of view – at least 50 projects from 30 organizations in the first phase of the project; 2. to raise awareness about the activities of Slovak NGOs and community initiatives using a creative communication campaign and modern tools that are close to the middle and younger generations (web sites, viral marketing, direct emails, public events); 3. to assist individual donors in learning about societal causes and simplify the steps of giving via an interactive donor management and reward system (e-pay, bank transfers, credit cards, payroll giving, DMS) with the aim of allowing donors to create their own accounts on the website and monitor donated money and the way in which it is used; and 4. to increase accountability and transparency of NGOs via promotion and publication of information about their projects, activities implemented, and results achieved.

This project addresses the problem of insufficient participation of the environmental NGOs in the decision making processes in the environmental field. The project aims to:

- increase public participation and foster civic engagement and importance of environmental NGOs, - improve awareness about urban vegetation issues and challenges through events and educational activities, - engage relevant legislative processes that will ensure appropriate trees protection in the city and public participation in decision making processes in the field of nature protection.

The project aims to address the continuing mutual ignorance of intellectual elites of CEE countries, that are reluctant to share their knowledge and experience among each other. Consequently, articles written by top Eastern European essayists and scholars are extensively being published in Western press, but only rarely reach the Central and East European readership. The grantee addresses this problem by running internet portal, which includes a daily updated survey of newspaper articles, and a regular weekly survey of articles published in influential weeklies and magazines with links to the original versions of the articles.

The aim of the project is to create a relevant group of experts that will be able to generate and promote solutions when defining future conditions for desired functioning of public service media. With the help from the media, this group of experts should increase public awareness about desired future development of PSM. Through this it will contribute to implementing expert solutions in the process of adopting final legislative on conditions for functioning of public service media. The program is expected to create a policy paper that will sum up the condition of PSM as well as views and expectations of citizens and stakeholders, and simultaneously outline goals for PSM and ways of achieving them.

The project intends to stimulate citizens’ engagement in activities of the civil society actors by improvement of NGOs´ public communication skills and performance. The activities of the project include trainings and consultations for NGOs´ representatives focusing on the development of communication skills, brand-building, PR and media relations. The program is expected to improve transparency and visibility of NGOs and their activities, and to contribute to the professional development of NGOs representatives.

The project aims to promote philanthropy by using innovative methods of authentic communication that is accepted by youth. The grantee will release three series of videos available at the project website: - Good Idea Counts - presenting positive results of successful and innovative projects of Slovak NGOs from a broadminded and forward thinking perspective, - Alternative Music and Openmindedness - showing examples how Slovak original production supports tolerance, acceptance and non-judgmental attitude, - Involvement of Slovak NGOs Abroad - illustrating where, why and how Slovak NGOs decided to help, share experience in building civil society, and contribute to democratization process.  The project will be run by new enthusiastic group of individuals supported by firmly established Pontis Foundation. The grantee hopes this project will support broader concept of civil society understood as the arena of unstructured collective action around shared interests, purposes and values.

This program addresses the problem of environment pollution caused by low awareness of local people about possibilities of waste treatment. The main aim of the project is to create a network of active school groups at primary and secondary schools of Slovakia, which would dedicate themselves to educational and monitoring activities within their local community. They will engage in advertising of waste separation and energy saving measures, monitor illegal human activities and negative human impact on the environment in their surroundings. The program is expected to increase the sensibility of people to environmental protection and contribute to improvement of the state of natural environment in local communities.

The main goal of the project is improvement of quality and ethics of the Slovak media. The project will provide regular feedback on media work, encourage critical thinking and real public debate about Slovak media, and will educate young media experts. It will increase media capacity to practice investigative journalism, and thus strengthen their controlling function. The grantee hopes this project will improve accountability of public institutions, and will increase pressure to solve some of the crucial problems of public governance. Activities within the project include: media monitoring and publishing comments on media work, preparing investigative articles and reports, providing lectures and internships for journalism students.

The project addresses the problem of social and economic injustice affecting the Roma and Slovak citizens of color. The grantee aims to raise awareness of racial discrimination and intolerance on the part of the national Police force, administrative and judicial organs through nationwide monitoring, documenting and reporting on human rights situation. The program will employ strategic litigation and human rights advocacy, and will provide free (pro bono) legal representation and counseling to victims of human rights abuse. This project is expected to contribute to confidence-building among target groups and to encourage implementation of anti discrimination legislation by court judges, prosecutors and administrative institutions.

This project's major goals are:
- to improve nonprofit legislation that would enable civil society actors to fulfill their role and ensure the sustainability of NGOs;
- to enhance the cross-sectoral cooperation in development of legal and fiscal regulations related to public benefit activities.

This project focuses on public and expert discourse by providing empirical data. Its major goals are as follows:
- to improve the citizens' awareness about online services for exercising their rights;
- to deepen capabilities of civil society actors to use information technologies for promotion of open society principles in public life and to generate pressure on the public administration to implement information and communication technologies with regards of citizens' rights.

The major goal of this project is to decrease the risk of corruption through monitoring of the processes of awarding and implementing projects financed from the EU funds and through watchdog activities oriented on the institutions that are responsible for the management of the EU funds in Slovakia.

This project aims at building up advocacy skills of 24 Roma and Non-Roma activists from 8 localities. The goal of advocacy part of the project is to apply theoretical knowledge in practice during training courses, with later simulation of advocacy activities directly in places of Roma residence. Through the Project, PDCS contributes to solving specific problems on the site, using cooperative planning process and advocacy tools.

This project aims at reducing discrimination and marginalisation of disadvantaged groups (such as the elderly, ethnic minorities, women, sexual minorities, people with disabilities) through:
- Empowerment of and networking between NGOs active in the field to enable them to tackle the issue on a complex, professional and sustainable basis
- Developing institutional capacity of the applicant to litigate strategically in discrimination cases
- Pooling project-relevant knowledge and experience from participating NGOs and influencing relevant policies.

This project aims at mobilization of discriminated Romani communities to resist discrimination through the concrete legal actions. It also focuses on improving effectiveness of existing legislation via empowerment and litigation activities.

This project is based on the main program implemented by Charta 77 Foundation. It seeks the possibilities to enhance the access to justice as well as to educate professional lawyers and promote the ideas of human rights, which activities have a very important meaning in Slovakia due to the limited access to justice and growing problems with respect for human rights.

The project will contribute to increased level and standards of citizen's rights protection, consistent decision-making of public authorities, proper use of their competencies in protection of public interest and transparent utilization of public funds. It also aims at empowerment of civil society with specific legal tools to impact decision-making processes. The project is to strengthen capacities of lawyers assisting citizen's struggles against non-transparent decision-making and promoting use of high ethical standards in legal profession.

The overall objective is to promote society that provides equal opportunities for disadvantaged groups. It aims at contribution in narrowing gaps related to Roma minority as one of the most vulnerable groups in Slovakia.

The project goal is to create a sustainable, long-term and independent funding mechanism for grass-root advocacy and watchdog activities in Slovakia, and to provide crucial small grant support to broad variety of citizen groups and initiatives to respond to local needs in citizen and human rights defense, public advocacy and watchdog activities.

The project's main goal is to improve quality and the ethics of the Slovak media. It will serve as a filter of doubtful, mistaken, or misleading news so that it will not appear and will not be repeated in other media. By improving quality of media, the project will improve control of the public institutions and will contribute to enhancing their transparency and effectiveness.  Through encouraging critical thinking and real public debate based on facts, it will also help citizens to make "good" decisions based on "good" information and thus to contribute to further development of democracy in Slovakia.

The project will contribute to a better enabling environment for civil society in Slovakia by improving the quality of selected public funding mechanisms (i.e., 2%, structural funds, subsidies) so that they will be more relevant, useful and accessible for watchdog, advocacy and policy activities.  It will also serve as a tool for facilitating the process leading to increased communication among the NGOs platforms in relation to public funds.

The main objective of the project is to improve transparency of subsidies awarded by the central government to local governments.  Within the framework of the project, TIS will be analyzing budgets of all ministries and subsidies awarded by the ministries and a discretionary power in decision-making processes concerning granting of subsidies.

The major goal of the project is to work on changing political culture in a chosen community through informal tools and civic engagement; to educate new generation of journalists and activists; and to create "islands of integrity" that will have a strong potential to be multiplied and will be able influence the whole environment. 

The goal of the project is to promote partnership and cross-sectoral cooperation in order to attract business support for investment in communities to meet various levels of societal needs, primarily in innovative and progressive areas, since these are only rarely or not at all supported by business because they are generally less popular causes; and to work intensively with NGOs to introduce them with tools that will enable them to absorb such support and sustain it in a form of long-term partnerships, with both the general public and the private sector.

The overall objective of the project is to support civil society as a voice for marginalized and vulnerable population - shifting Roma communities from the role of passive target group of social development to the role of active participants of this process through the mobilization of Roma civic representatives.
