Monthly stipend and travel allowance should be complemented by a book allowance. The alumni of the program can well demostrate the long term impact of their stay both by showing higher qualification and by utilizing new contacts in their work. Co-funding of the program is requested for the up-coming three years, $5,000 each year.

Project DescriptionThe main goal of the project is to contribute to the financial sustainability of the non-profit sector in the Czech Republic and greater participation of NGOs in structural funds programs through providing repayable grants with the aim to change the position of the bank sector towards issuing the bridging loans for the Czech NGOs. NROS will achieve this goal by running a pilot, three years, project during which it will provide repayable grants to NGOs and it will create the Manual on the assessment of NGOs creditworthiness that will be distributed to commercial banks aiming at introduction of bridging loans to NGOs as a normal banks’ product after the end of the project. Thus the main responsibility for program administration lies on NROS with close partnership with commercial bank. Before the start of the program, NROS will sign the contract on cooperation with the private bank – Poštovní spořitelna, which will provide the revolving loan in value of 50mil CZK (app 2 600 000 USD) that will be used for repayable grants for NGOs.
