Activism and Protest Culture Among Young People in Romania Report Launched

Asociaţia Mişcarea Civică Miliţia Spirituală launched a report "Activism and Protest Culture Among Young People in Romania" at a conference held at the Faculty of History in Bucharest, Romania, on February 14. According to the research, most young people interviewed have never participated in protests whether they had the opportunity or not, claiming that protests are unnecessary or ineffective. However, they consider that there are reasons to protest, most notably in defense of rights. The research was supported by the funding from Trust for Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe.

Miliţia Spirituală is a non-governmental and non-partisan association based in Romania. Its mission is to raise awareness of active citizenship and solidarity of citizens, based on the values: freedom of conscience, strengthening citizenship, solidarity, human dignity, the courage to take an opinion and support it with concrete actions.
