2010 European Pro Bono Forum 18-19 November, Paris

The Public Interest Law Institute’s annual European Pro Bono Forum will take place in Paris on 18-19 November 2010. Expecting to draw more than 200 lawyers, NGO representatives and academics from throughout Europe and beyond, the Forum is the only platform of its kind providing an international comparative perspective on pro bono practice in Europe.

The 2010 Forum will be held at two venues in the heart of Paris:  the prestigious Maison du Barreau, the meeting center of the Paris Bar, and the Cap 15 conference facility. In celebration of the Paris Bar's 200th anniversary and in light of local developments in pro bono practice, Jean Castelain, the President of the Paris Bar, will kick off the Forum.

Now in its fourth year, the Forum will have a diverse agenda with interactive workshops geared toward NGO representatives, newcomers to pro bono as well as more experienced practitioners:

  • Already attended the Forum?
This year’s Forum will offer meaningful opportunities for experienced pro bono practitioners to engage in new initiatives focused on combating poverty and social exclusion as well as human rights and environmental protection, high-impact projects and cross-border partnerships.  With more workshops and three possible streams, participants will have the opportunity to customize their experience according to their interests and expertise.
  • New to pro bono practice?
The European Pro Bono Forum is an exciting opportunity to build partnerships with existing pro bono networks in Europe and beyond and to gain valuable skills and knowledge. Participants can choose from a variety of streams and workshops, including those focused particularly on introducing pro bono practice and creating pro bono initiatives from the ground up.
  • Representing an NGO?
NGO representatives bring important perspectives to the Forum. The Forum provides a unique networking opportunity – the NGO Marketplace – during which organizations present their mission and work and speak to lawyers one-on-one about their legal needs and those of the people they serve. NGO representatives are entitled to discounted registration rates.

Registration is now open!

Early registration rates end September 20.

Discounted rates are available for NGO representatives, solo practitioners, and lawyers working at firms employing fewer than 30 lawyers (in all offices).
