On November 5-7, 2008, some 150 lawyers, NGO representatives, and academics from across Europe and the US will gather in Budapest, Hungary at the Forum to explore emerging trends in pro bono legal practice in Europe.
The 2008 Forum will feature over thirty-five speakers from ten different countries. Péter Köves, the President of the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) will deliver the Forum’s keynote address, and Lord Andrew Phillips of Sudbury, former member of the House of Lords (UK) and a staunch advocate for pro bono practice, will welcome participants on the first day of panel sessions.
The event will include an impressive evening program held at the historic Hungarian Parliament at which Tibor Draskovics, the Hungarian Minister of Justice and Law Enforcement, will speak.
The Forum presents valuable opportunities for both lawyers and NGOs to form lasting partnerships, and, as a result, helps NGOs become stronger and more effective actors for the public good.
