We would like to encourage you to read the January 2006 issue of the
Alliance Bulletin
.
The main feature this month is an interview with
Rayna Gavrilova
, the new Executive Director of the Trust for Civil Society in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE Trust):
"The CEE Trust emerged at the end of the 1990s as a joint initiative of six donors with substantial track records of grantmaking in the region with a remit of strengthening civil society. In its first phase the CEE Trust focused largely on building civil society infrastructure - what Rayna Gavrilova calls the ‘hardware' of civil society. As she explains, she now intends to move the role of the Trust to investing in processes and helping civil societies in the region shape their own futures."
